All our project partners of Ruggedised will gather in Brno on June 4 and 5 to discuss the status of the project. This general assembly meeting will happily coincide with the URBIS smart city Fair, organised by the city of Brno on June 5 and 6. We are now half-way through the project, and most smart solutions have been implemented in our 3 Lighthouse cities: Rotterdam, Glasgow and Umeå. This is the moment to reflect on the challenges and findings of this first period and share this precious knowledge with our Fellow cities and beyond, with all other cities interested in developing their own smart districts.




  • The city of Brno is inviting Lighthouse cities’ speakers on June 5 to present their advanced smart solution during the SCC1 Replication workshop, organised as a side event of the URBIS Smart City Fair 2019. There will be three rounds of the replication workshop each consisting of five to six round tables that will each focus on onne innovative Lighthouse city smart solution, technical or organisational.


  • Participation in the workshop will be available for all visitors of the URBIS fair requiring prior registration.

The RUGGEDISED project is pleased to inform that our advisory board member, internationally acclaimed Architect Wolf D. Prix, will give the keynote-speech at the opening of the URBIS smart city fair on 5th April 2019 on the subject of "City as a dynamic and complex adaptive system".

A 21st century game-changer, the influence of energy conservation is as powerful and radicalizing as the advent of the automobile in the 20th century, which mandated all-new infrastructure. With his team he developed a concept of dynamic energy lines.
